The mine of Brejui produces scheelita ore, which contains the tungsten used in electric resistences, perforating, planes, etc....

Main attraction of the Seridó region, it is a part, along with its production, of the its historical and cultural heritage.

The site is open to the visitation with tours of the galleries.

Visit also the ‘Memorial Tomaz Salustino' and the ‘Mário Porto’ Museum.

During many years the Brejuí mine was one of main producers of scheelita ore.

Stopped in 1997, due to the competition of China, the production started again in 2005.

The excursion also includes a visit to the community of the inhabitants of the mine, with tastings of regional products and entry to the ‘Santa Terezinha’ Chapel.

After the sands hills of the mine, exists a beautiful view of the region and the mountains ‘Serra de Acauã’ and ‘Serra do Chapéu’.
