Praça Augusto Severo
This square was inaugurated on May 12th, 1913, in homage of the famous potiguar considered as the 'Martyr' of the Aeronautical Technology'. He died in Paris, on May 12th, 1902, in the explosion of his dirigible 'Pax', which he had built. The main monument of the square is the theatre 'Alberto Maranhão'.

This small square officially called 'Tomás de Araújo' is known as 'Praça das Mães', by the fact of theses mothers who met in this place to receive news of their sons that had left to the war ( Second World war). Its construction is from the 60s, the ceramic panel and the iron is in homage to the mothers of all the races, his author is the artist Dorian Gray.
